It was another great week here at Ilchester! We hosted two successful back-to-school nights. Our teachers truly enjoyed meeting with you and having the opportunity to share about their instructional programs. We thank you for your comittment to your child's education and encourage you to continue to stay active throughout the school year!
Here are a few updates/reminders for today and the week ahead:
MAP Assessement: Next week marks the beginning of our Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing window. MAP is a computer adaptive test in both reading and math that each student in grades 1-5 will take at three points during the year. The information gathered from each MAP administration is used by teachers to help inform daily instruction, as well as instructional groupings. Each grade level will test on specific dates and you will be informed by your child's homeroom teacher as to that schedule. Please take this opportunity to make sure that your child has a good breakfast each morning and brings his/her eyeglasses to school if necessary. We would also request that you try to refrain from scheduling any appointments outside of school during the testing times.
Family File / Emergency Card: As of today, 500 families have completed the very important Family File - Emergency Card. With your effort over the past few weeks, we are at a 73% completion rate! Please remember, all families are required to complete the Emergency Contact Information through http://www.hcpss.org/connect. All emergency information contained in the Family File must be updated annually. Please make an effort to complete this information by the end of September. Having this information is extremely helpful with our ability to contact you in the event of an emergency, as well as authorize emergency contacts for pick-up.
We thank you for your consideration and continued cooperation and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
